The EU has developed digital policies for more than a decade, yet only recently a comprehensive and clear design is emerging: fundamental cornerstones are being laid with the final approval of the Digital Market Act and the Digital Service Act.
The scope of these rules matches the extension of digital markets and services and thus they touch upon the entire economy and leap into the future. Therefore, the digital legislation package set a new framework, but also has to connect the dots among all existing pieces of legislations and institutional interactions.
The webinar debate aimed to shed some light on some crucial issues related to digital package enforcement, such as (i) the relationship and interactions of the new rules with other horizontal piece of legislation, particularly competition law and data protection, and (ii) the roles and actual vertical interdependencies between the EU and national institutions.
The webinar debate will be introduced by presenting a recently published book about “Regulating Digital Markets”, authored by IIC Italian Chapters members, Antonio Manganelli and Antonio Nicita.
